Seven Terps Sign with NFL Teams

April 25, 2005

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - A day after the National Football League draft has ended and the University of Maryland has its first player selected in the first round since 1997 in Shawne Merriman, seven more Terrapin players have been added to NFL rosters.

With Merriman (12th overall to the Chargers) and Domonique Foxworth (3rd round to the Broncos) going on the first day, other Terps had to wait for the phone to ring. Last season, 12 players made their way to NFL camps and with the addition of the free agents below, Maryland has had 21 players in the last two years get a look in NFL camps.

Below are the most recent signees:

  • Rob Abiamiri -- Baltimore Ravens
  • C.J. Brooks -- Oakland Raiders
  • Jon Condo -- Dallas Cowboys
  • Lou Lombardo -- Indianapolis Colts
  • Nick Novak -- Chicago Bears
  • Kyle Schmitt -- Minnesota Vikings
  • Curtis Williams -- Baltimore Ravens
