Maryland Beaten by SeminolesTallahassee, Fl.- Thad Busby threw for 308 yards and two touchdowns in the first half and Dan Kendra had a pair of second-half scoring tosses to Peter Warrick as Maryland was overpowered by sixth-ranked Florida State, 50-7, in its Atlantic Coast Conference opener. Midway through the second quarter Maryland pulled to within 13 points on Lamont Jordan's 44 yard scamper to bring the score to 20-7. However, it just didn't turn out to be the Terps day as they couldn't manage more than those seven points against the tough Seminole defense. One week after grinding out a 14-7 victory at Southern Cal, the Seminoles (2-0, 1-0 ACC) exploded in their home opener at Doak Campbell Stadium, where they are unbeaten in their previous 30 games (29-0-1). Maryland dropped to (0-2, 0-1 ACC). Maryland is now 0-8 all-time against Florida State. The Seminoles held a 559-105 advantage in total yardage and have outscored the Terrapins, 396-130, in the all-time series.
