At Riverdale Baptist High School: A two-year starter who did not take up football until his junior year ... played defensive end, tight end and offensive tackle in his two seasons ... recorded 53 tackles, 16 sacks, 32 quarterback hurries and batted down six passes as a senior ... also had 16 receptions and two touchdowns from his tight end position in 2004 ... an honorable mention All-Independent schools selection ... also lettered in basketball where he played power forward, averaging eight points and seven rebounds a game ... transferred from DeMatha after his sophomore season ... also recruited by Illinois, Kent State and Texas Southern ... coached by Kervin Wyatt, who was a former Terrapin letterwinner (1976-79) at linebacker and along the offensive line.
