Terps Set For Season Opener

Maryland and William & Mary kickoff at 3:04 p.m. Saturday in Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium

A big, strong lineman who possesses good size and blocking skills ... emerged in the spring of 2011 when he took over as the No. 1 right guard ... expected to once again be a key contributor at guard this fall ... has played in 17 games with nine starts (all at right guard) ... excelled at both football and lacrosse in high school.

As a Sophomore (2011): Started the first nine games at right guard and played in all 12 ... helped the offense rank third in the ACC in rushing (169.3 yards per game) and fourth in fewest sacks allowed (1.4 pg) ... part of a line that held the opponent without a sack in back-to-back games (Miami, West Virginia) for the first time since 2000 ... helped the offense put up 499 yards of total offense against Miami, the Terps' largest output since 2005 ... part of a line that helped Davin Meggett rush for a career-high 113 yards against West Virginia (9/17), as the Terps put up 189 rushing yards on 35 carries (5.4 ypc) as a team ... helped the team run for 198 yards against Towson (10/1), including 102 by Davin Meggett, while holding the Tigers without a sack ... helped the Terps rack up 246 rushing yards against Georgia Tech (10/8), including 124 by QB C.J. Brown and 86 by Meggett ... part of an effort that saw Maryland rush for a season-high 291 yards against Clemson (10/15) ... helped hold Boston College (10/29), Notre Dame (11/12) and Wake Forest (11/19) without a sack.

As a Redshirt Freshman (2010): Played in five games as a reserve offensive guard ... helped the Terps post 221 rushing yards vs. Morgan State (9/11), his first-career game ... aided the offense in racking up 446 yards of total offense, including season-high 261 on the ground against Wake Forest (10/30), while not surrendering a sack ... played as a reserve vs. Florida State (11/20) and NC State (11/27) ... helped the offense roll up season highs in total yards (478) and rushing yards (279), and score a bowl-record 51 points vs. East Carolina in the Military Bowl (12/29).

As a Freshman (2009): Served a redshirt season ... enrolled in school in January and joined the team for spring practice.
