Terps Get Georgia Tech in ACC Quarters

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Maryland will play Georgia Tech on Friday at 7 p.m. in a quarterfinal game of the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament being played at the Greensboro Coliseum. The Yellow Jackets advanced with a 62-58 comeback victory over North Carolina in a first-round game Thursday.
The game will be telecast locally on the Raycom Sports network and nationally on ESPN2. In the metro area, the game will be telecast on WDCA-TV (D.C.) and WNUV-TV. The game can also be heard across the Terrapin Sports Radio Network, including Baltimore flagships WJZ-FM (105.7), WJZ-AM (1300). Maryland earned a first-round bye by getting the No. 2 seed in the tournament for the first time since the ACC Tournament expanded to 12 teams. Maryland will face the Yellow Jackets for the second time this season, winning 76-74 on Feb. 20 in Comcast Center on a buzzer-beater by Cliff Tucker. A quarterfinal victory on Friday could put Maryland in the 3:30 semifinal on Saturday against either Florida State or NC State.
