Maryland Crushes Maryland-Baltimore County

WASHINGTON D.C. --- Laron Profit scored 16 of his 18 points in the first half as 22nd-ranked Maryland raced to a 31-point lead and cruised to its 56th straight home victory over non-conference opponents, a 104-66 thrashing of Maryland-Baltimore County.

The Terrapins (5-3) have the second-longest active home winning streak against non-conference opponents, second to Oklahoma State's 76. Maryland has not lost at Cole Arena to a team outside of the Atlantic Coast Conference since December 30th, 1989.

Maryland, which took command of the game with a 35-10 run over a six-minute span midway through the first half, also has won 21 consecutive games against in-state rivals. The Terps are 9-0 all-time against Maryland-Baltimore County.

Kennedy Okafor had 20 points for the Retrievers (2-5), who have lost four of their last five and fell by double digits for the third time this season.
