COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland baseball team finishes its season at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Delaware with a chance to become only the second Maryland team in school history to win 30 or more games.

With last Saturday afternoon's victory against No. 17 North Carolina State, the Terps clinched a winning record for the first time since 2002, which was also the last time Maryland won 30 games.

The Terps are 29-26 overall, but have been eliminated from ACC Tournament contention after finishing with a 9-21 league record.

Sophomore Scott Swinson (Ellicott City, Md./George Washington University) is expected to start on the mound for the Terps. If Swinson earns a victory, he will finish with five, the most on the team.

Senior Chad Durakis (Cockeysville, Md./St. Paul's) has two career milestones within reach entering the game. Durakis is one hit shy of moving into fifth place in school history and one double shy of third place.

Wednesday's game will also determine who finishes the season with the highest batting average on the team. Jensen Pupa (Germantown, Md./Northwest) currently leads the team at .318, but Nick Jowers (Beltsville, Md./DeMatha Catholic) is close behind at .317 while Durakis sits at .313 and Will Greenberg (Gaithersburg, Md./Washington College) at .308.

The Terps and Blue Hens met twice earlier this season, with Maryland sweeping a two-game midweek series March 11-12.

The Blue Hens are 21-30 overall and 10-17 in the Colonial Athletic Association.

Delaware is a solid hitting team, batting .297 as a team with 63 home runs and 122 doubles. Three Delaware players are batting over .320, including pro prospects Adam Tsakonas and Alex Buchholz.

Ryan Cuneo leads the Blue Hens with a .354 average and 48 RBIs. Tsakonas leads the team with 12 home runs.

Radio coverage of the game will be provided live online at WMUCSports.com.
