Baseball Defeats Mt. St. Mary's, 17-3

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Terps hit four home runs and pounded out 19 hits this afternoon to defeat Mt. St. Mary's, 17-3, at Shipley Field. Maryland scored in every inning with the exception of the sixth and every Terp starter recorded a hit. Freshman Brian Patenaude hit his first career homer in the third inning, a solo shot to right field to give the Terps a 4-2 lead. Maryland blew the game open in the fourth as senior Scott Bronowicz led off the inning with his first of two homers on the day to give Maryland a three-run advantage. Four batters later with the bases loaded, J.R. Thomas hit a grand slam to center field to give Maryland a 12-2 lead. Bronowicz's second homer of the game came in the eighth inning, a two-run blast. On the day, Bronowicz went 5-6 at the plate with three runs scored and four RBI. Maryland starter Brandon Agamennone earned his third win of the season. Agamennone pitched six innings, allowed three runs and struck out four. Matt Linz (0-4) was the loser for Mt. St. Mary's.
