Baseball Downs Furman, 15-5
March 23, 1998 GREENVILLE -- Maryland's Scott Bronowicz led the Terrapins to victory with two hits and seven RBI's in Monday afternoon's game. He produced a grand slam in the fourth inning and a three-run homer in the seventh to seal the win. Maryland took an early lead, scoring five runs in the first two innings and allowing Furman only one. The Paladins were able to hold the Terrapins in the third inning and score one run in the bottom of the third, but could not catch up. Maryland immediately responded with six runs in the fourth inning highlighted by Bronowicz's four-run home run. Furman scored three in the bottom of the fourth on home runs by both Jason Lerner and Jody Wade. Four runs by Maryland in the seventh, highlighted by Bronowicz's three-run RBI, sealed the Terrapins victory. Furman's record is now 10-12-1 overall and 4-2 in the conference. Maryland's Jared Vogt (1-1) was credit with the win, while Furman's Brad Rollins (1-2) took the loss. Furman returns to action at home on Wednesday to face Elon at 3:00 p.m.
