COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Matt Marquis went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run to lead the University of Maryland baseball Sunday afternoon at Bob "Turtle" Smith Stadium at Shipley Field, but the third-ranked Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets hit five home runs to win the rubber game of the series, 10-3.

Georgia Tech's first four hits all left the ballpark off Maryland starter Sander Beck, as the Yellow Jackets grabbed a quick 5-0 lead in the third inning. The Yellow Jackets took the series, 2-1, and improved to 16-2 on the season and 5-1 in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

The Yellow Jackets took a commanding 9-0 lead with four runs in the top of the fourth.

Maryland (8-11, 2-4 ACC) got one run in the fourth on a Mike Rozak RBI single and Marquis homered in the eighth to account for the Terps' scoring.

Beck allowed nine runs in 3 1/3 innings, striking out four and walking four to fall to 0-3 on the season. Georgia Tech starter Jed Bradley improved to 3-1, allowing one run on six hits in seven innings with nine strikeouts.

The Terps return to action Tuesday at James Madison and host UMBC Wednesday.
