VCU Comes from Behind to Beat Terps, 7-6

Maryland falls to 3-5 on the season.

RICHMOND, Va. - Virginia Commonwealth scored five runs in the last two innings to claim a come-from-behind, 7-6, victory over Maryland at The Diamond this afternoon. The Terrapins fall to 3-5 while the Rams improve to 8-4.

Maryland led 6-1 after six innings and 6-4 after 8 1/2 innings. Maryland scored three runs in the third inning as a Frank Valois double scored Scott Bronowicz and Casey Trout. The Terps extended the lead in the fifth as Jason Mohap hit a three-run blast to left field.

VCU scored two runs in the eighth to close the gap to two, 6-4, and scored three runs on four hits in the bottom of the ninth. With the bases loaded and the infield drawn in, VCU's Micah Hass hit a single that scored the winning run off of loser Mike Ginsberg.
