Terps Fall to UNC-Greensboro in Extra Innings

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Maryland fell 7-6 to the Spartans in 11 innings this afternoon at War Memorial Stadium. Trailing 6-2 going into the ninth inning, the Terps scored four times to tie the game. The Terp rally started with one out as Adam Ross drove in Jason Schlegel with an RBI single. J.R. Thomas then walked to put runners on first and second. Larry Long struck out and Casey Trout singled to score Ross and move Thomas to third as the lead was cut 6-4. A single by Scott Bronowicz scored Trout and Thomas to tie the game. Maryland had two runners on base in the tenth but failed to score as Thomas struck out to retire the side. The Spartans scored the winning run off Jared Vogt, who entered the game in the eighth. With the loss, the Terps drop to 0-3 on the season.
