Box Score

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland baseball team dropped its home opener in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday, a 17-3 loss to the Delaware Blue Hens.

With the loss, the Terps dropped to 0-4 to start the 2010 season.

The game was previously scheduled to be played Friday, but was postponed by one day due to inclement weather.

The Blue Hens (1-3) gained an early advantage behind starting pitcher Brian Rorick. Rorick (1-0) allowed only four hits in six innings of work for Delaware, striking out six Terrapin batters en route to earning the win.

Maryland starter Brett Harman (0-2) struggled against the Blue Hens, allowing 10 runs in 4 1/3 innings of work in the loss.

Offensively, the Terps were led by Adam Kolarek, who went 1-for-2 on the day and scored two of the team's three runs. Kolarek also walked and stole a base for Maryland.
