Nov. 25, 1997 Baseball Signs Four PlayersCollege Park, Md. -- University of Maryland head baseball coach Tom Bradley has announced the signing of four players to the Terrapin program. The players are Todd Ainsworth (Hershey, Pa.), Kevin McDonald (Rockaway, NJ), Taylor Twellman (St. Louis, Mo.) and Raymond Wagner (Severna Park, Md.). Ainsworth (6-4, 195), a righthanded pitcher, struck out 51 batters in 47.2 innings last season and posted a 5-3 record for Hershey High School. He also batted .547 with six home runs. McDonald (6-0, 198), a catcher, batted .443 with four home runs and 25 rbi for Morristown Beard School. Twellman (5-10, 165), a utility player, batted .429 last season at St. Louis University High School. Wagner (6-3, 215), a righthanded pitcher, recorded a 5-2 record with 50 strikeouts and posted a 2.59 ERA last season at Chesapeake High School. "This is the best overall recruiting class we have had in the early signing period," said Bradley. "I'm very pleased we were able to sign these four fine players."
