Daniel Black is in his first year as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of Maryland. Black began his Maryland tenure in September 2010 interning with the men's and women's swimming and diving teams and the football team. Black was given the task of coordinating the strength and conditioning programs for the women's tennis team, the women's acrobatics and tumbling team, and men's and women's golf in August 2011 and has been in charge of the development and execution of those team's strength and conditioning programs ever since. He has also assisted with volleyball, wrestling, softball, field hockey, men's and women's soccer, and men's and women's basketball. Black is expected to earn his bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland in kinesiology in December 2011. He is planning on continuing his education by pursuing a master's degree in exercise science or a related field. Black is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA) and is completing the internship portion of the CSCCa Strength and Conditioning Coach Certification. |
