Coming off a successful opening weekend, the Terps will have an unexpected break this Saturday. Their competition scheduled in Washington, D.C. was cancelled. They will still be traveling to Atlantic City, N.J. on Sunday where they will be performing as an exhibition team.

Coach Fleece says that the opportunity to perform as an exhibition team is just as valuable as competition. The team will be able to focus on the changes they've made without the pressure of another team in their division. At this point in the season the team will be concentrating on hitting their tumbling passes and keeping their timing synchronized in partner stunts.

The coaching staff hopes that entering the competition as exhibition will allow the women to relax on the mat and perform without the nerves. They hope that the team will be able to work on the more detailed choreography changes that were made in practice this week.

The Terps will take a break after this weekend. Their next competition will be home at the University of Maryland on Jan. 22.
