COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Terps announced their 2008-09 competition schedule this week. The team will travel to Virginia, Georgia and other east coast states throughout the year, before concluding the season at the NCA national championships in April.

Maryland will kick off the season at a Jamfest event at the Showplace Arena in Upper Marlboro, Md. on Dec. 6, before heading to Baltimore for the next events. They will compete in a Spirit Unlimited competition on Dec. 13 at the Baltimore Center. After the holiday break, they will compete in the American Championships on Jan. 31 at the Baltimore Convention Center as well.

The Terps will get to host a home competition on Feb. 7 in a Spirit Unlimited event held on the University of Maryland campus, before opening their out-of-state part of the schedule.

The Terrapins will then head to Atlanta for the Cheersport Nationals, a highlight of the season, for the weekend of Feb. 13-15. The competition will be held at the Georgia World Congress Center.

After Atlanta, they will head Richmond, Va. on Feb. 22 for the WSF championships and then to Fairfax, Va. on March 7 for the Coastal Championships. The Terps will take part in a Jamfest event in Philadelphia on March 14.

The finale of the Terps' season is the NCA nationals competition, held in Daytona Beach, Fla. April 8-12. The Terps won their three consecutive national titles at NCA nationals in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
