ASCDU Philosophy

To provide quality developmental programs and services that will enhance the academic progress, encourage career development, and foster the overall growth and maturation of every student athlete.

Student-Athlete Advising

Each team is assigned a member of the ASCDU counseling staff to meet with throughout their tenure at the University of Maryland. In addition, each student-athlete has an academic advisor within their declared major department. The ASCDU academic counselors act as a secondary support network that coordinate and implement transitional and developmental programs to address the unique academic and career development needs of student-athletes. In cooperation with the Office of Records and Registration, the ASCDU and the College advisors help to assure that NCAA, ACC and University rules and regulations are followed.
