Q: I have a question about my financial aid and housing. Where do I go?
A: Contact the Athletic Department Office of Compliance or the Financial Aid Office
Q: When do I have to return my textbooks?
A: Textbooks must be returned beginning final exam week and up to the day before Commencement.
Q: When do I have to return my calculator or tape recorder to the ASCDU?
A: Calculators must be returned at the end of the course in which it was used for and no later than the end of the semester.
Q: I have a block and cannot add/drop a class, what do I do?
A: Contact your major department. You must obtain an electronic approval (stamp) from your academic advisor within your MAJOR department before you can drop or add a class. Your ASCDU counselor should be consulted before adding or dropping any courses.
Q: How can I become involved with community service projects?
A: Community Service is one of the 5 components of CHAMPS/Lifeskills and is an important part of the ASCDU. Please see Areyal Hall to see how you can get involved.
Q: Are student-athletes allowed to check out laptops for team travel?
A: Yes, student-athletes need to inform their coach that they would like to check a laptop out and the coach will be able to see the ASCDU front desk staff to complete the process.
Q: I would like some help deciding on a major. Where do I go?
A: If you are currently undeclared or are interested in exploring other major options, the ASCDU can assist you. The ASCDU offers Major Workshop Nights and FOCUS. FOCUS is a Web-based, personalized career and education planning system based on established career and counseling principles. After assessing your personal attributes, FOCUS identifies occupations and career paths that match your personal characteristics.
Q: How can the ASCDU assist me in finding internships or employment?
A: The ASCDU offers a broad 4-year academic plan that prepares student-athletes for a successful career after graduation. The ASCDU holds various workshops and information systems to assist student-athletes as much as possible. For more information, please contact Krista Chmielewski.
Q: I am in my final semester and will drop below 12 credits. What do I do?
A: Please see you academic counselor and ensure that you fill out the appropriate paperwork at the ASCDU front desk.
Q: I am having trouble with my classes. How can the ASCDU help me?
A: The ASCDU offers a comprehensive, free of charge tutoring service for all student-athletes. This service is offered every semester to enable student-athletes to excel both in the classroom and in competition.
