The morning session of day two at the NCAA Championships saw Josh Asper and Jimmy Sheptock fall from the championship bracket as both wrestlers suffered losses in the quarterfinal round at Wells Fargo Arena on Friday.

The 2013 NCAA Championships got underway Thursday morning at Wells Fargo Center in Des Moines with five Terps competing. After the dust settled from session one, Josh Asper and Jimmy Sheptock advanced in the championship bracket.

The opening session of the 2012 NCAA Championships is in the books and seventh-seeded Josh Asper (165) and 12th-seeded Jimmy Sheptock (174) advanced to the round of 16 which will be held tonight at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Mo.

The Maryland wrestling team earned its record 24th ACC Championship and fourth in five seasons after defeating Virginia and Virginia Tech on Saturday at Carmichael Arena. The Terrapins dominated the upper weights and crowned four champions: Kyle John (157), Jimmy Sheptock (174), Christian Boley (197), and Spencer Myers (285). We caught up with them this week and this is what they had to say.

The Maryland wrestling team concluded the regular season last week and now is in postseason mode. While the Terps are busy prepping for the ACC Championships on March 3, the NCAA announced how many automatic qualifying spots will be up for grabs in Chapel Hill.

After claiming the 174-pound individual title at the Nittany Lion Open, senior Mike Letts was featured in an interview segment on TakedownRadio.com's radio show Wednesday.
Along with Virginia Tech's Chris Henrich, Terrapin senior Mike Letts has been named one of two Atlantic Coast Conference Wrestlers of the Week for his performance at the Northeast Duals on Nov. 27.
