It didn't take long for the accolades to start pouring in for rookie sensation Katie Schwarzmann. The midfielder was tabbed WomensLax.com Rookie of the Week after helping lead the Terps to a win of historic proportions Saturday against fifth-ranked Duke. Maryland dropped the Blue Devils in Durham by 13 goals, the largest margin of victory against Duke in program history. The freshman from Century High School tacked an assist, two draw controls, five ground balls and three caused turnovers onto her career-high three-goal performance.
Maryland welcomes another conference-rival Friday for a rare evening match with Virginia at 7 p.m. at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex.
