Olympic Training Recap with Adreene Elliott

For four days in late February, five Maryland volleyball players visited the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., to take part in the U.S. Women's National Team open tryouts.

Adreene provided a daily account of her experience in Colorado Springs.

Fresh Faces: Kelsey Hrebenach

The Fresh Faces series contines this week with Kelsey Hrebenach. Kelsey starred for the Heritage Pride in Leesburg, Va., and led the Pride to the Virginia AAA Cedar Run District title and Northwest Region title as a junior while earning second team all-district honors. Kelsey was ranked 47th by PrepVolleyball.com in the class of 2012.

Fresh Faces: Kamrin Gold

With the season well under way, the Fresh Faces series continues with Kamrin Gold. The Flint, Mch., native was a four-year letterwinner in volleyball and softball at Carman-Ainsworth High School. She holds single-season school records in kills (836) and digs (670) as well as the single-season record for aces (126). Gold was a finalist for Michigan Gatorade Player of the Year and Miss Volleyball.

Maryland volleyball fans, we are only four days away from the season opener against Villanova. With that in mind, we continue the Fresh Faces series this week with Emily Fraik. Fraik was a 2012 OHSVCA Division II All-Ohio First Team member and was named to the 2011-12 Under Armour Honorable Mention All-America team.

Fresh Faces: Mackenzie Dagostino

Mackenzie Dagostino is the latest Terp to join the Fresh Faces seriest. Dagostino was named to the 2011-12 Under Armour All-America second team and recipient of the prestigious Andi Collins award, which is given to the nation's top prep senior setter. The Tampa, Fla., native led Berkeley Prep to the Florida state championship the past three seasons.

Fresh Faces: Amy Dion

As I continue to introduce the newest members of the Terrapin volleyball team as the season nears it start, Amy Dion is the center of this week's installment. Dion was a two-time AAU All-American with her club team, Sky High. The native of Algonquin, Ill., helped Sky High capture two AAU national titles in 2010 and 2011.

The volleyball season is quickly approaching as we reach the end of July. The Terps begin practice August 8. As the season nears, I will be introducing you to the newest members of the Terrapin squad starting with Dani Bozzini. Dani starred at Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose, Calif., before arriving in College Park. She was a four-year letterwinner in volleyball and a two-year letterwinner in basketball for the Monarchs.

Future Terps Shine at GJNC in Columbus

With the start of the 2012 season a little over a month away, two future Maryland volleyball players concluded their club careers Sunday in the gold medal match of the 18 Open Division at the 2012 USA Volleyball Girls' Junior National Championships in Columbus, Ohio.
