Terps Battle NPF All Stars

SB_9-27-120170.jpgThe Maryland softball team battled the National Pro Fastpitch All Stars Thursday night in an exhibition at Robert E. Taylor Stadium. The Terps lost, but freshman pitcher Maddie Martin  (left) pitched all seven innings.

Martin was named Co-Player of the Game, along with the NPF's Charlotte Morgan. The Terps' Candice Beards was named Honorable Mention Player of the Game.

Men's Basketball Visits Local School

Men's basketball players John Auslander and Spencer Barks visited Paint Branch Elementary School this week as part of the Terrapin Enrichment Reading Program (T.E.R.P.).

They read to second grade students. Both the Terps and the students enjoyed their time together and can't wait to read together again. More photos below.

Maryland Hosts Job Fair for Student-Athletes

Student-athletes had an opportunity to meet with potential employers this week at a career fair hosted in Heritage Hall Thursday night.

"The career fair was a tremendous success," Azizuddin Abdur-Ra'oof, Maryland's Director of Student Welfare & Career Development said. "We had more than 100 local businesses and corporations join us and received very positive feedback."

"I am hoping to get a job and network to meet more professionals to also enhance my people skills," softball senior Sara Acosta said.

Fresh Faces: Kelsey Hrebenach

The Fresh Faces series contines this week with Kelsey Hrebenach. Kelsey starred for the Heritage Pride in Leesburg, Va., and led the Pride to the Virginia AAA Cedar Run District title and Northwest Region title as a junior while earning second team all-district honors. Kelsey was ranked 47th by PrepVolleyball.com in the class of 2012.
