Hey Terp Fans!
After an outstanding win last weekend at our Pink Meet, the Gym Terps were excited to get back in the gym to work even harder! We had a short week, since our next home meet was the following Friday. Therefore, we put everything we had into our only two practices, which were both team events.
Our last home meet, until March 10, was on Friday night in the Comcast Pavilion. We have been lucky enough to be competing on the main court these past few times, but due to a basketball conflict, we competed in the Pavilion. However, without a jumbotron intro video, and all of the special effects that pump us up on the main court, we had to find the energy and determination within our team and ourselves. In fact, we had to compete with even more aggression and passion. The Pavilion was packed, even with additional rows of chairs on the sides. This just proved to us how our program is expanding and how awesome our fans are! A huge shoutout to all of the surprise fans we had, including Ally's parents all the way from California!
We started off very strong on vault and bars, earning high scores and having a blast. However, when things started to not go our way on beam, we did not let it get the best of us. Our team motto is "No Mercy", and we really executed that for the remainder of the meet. There was no one stopping us from protecting our own house. After beam, we had seven stellar performances on floor, which helped us close off the meet and show everyone whose house it is! Once again, we finished with a big WIN against Bridgeport, GW, and Pitt! We want to thank each and every one of our fans for supporting us once again!
After the meet, we were able to spend quality time with our families at dinner. The next day, my parents and I went to the men's basketball game vs. Clemson, where the Terps also earned a big win! It's been a GREAT weekend to be a TERP and it is only getting better from here!
This week, we are practicing with a major purpose: BEAT AUBURN! We leave for Auburn on Thursday, and we compete on Friday night at 7 p.m.!
Thanks for reading and GO TERPS!
Love,
Stephy
