Hey Terp Fans!

After our strong season opener at NC State, we were back in the gym and ready for more!

On Sunday, the whole team had an excitement level I've never seen before. We were not only prepared to dominate any challenge put before us, but also to complete that challenge with perfection. The Terps had that "spark" that will lead us into a remarkable season.

On Monday, we came into the gym ready to prepare for our next meet at Pitt with Cornell and Temple. We started off the week with a light workout to loosen up our muscles and perfect some mistakes from the meet. We had Tuesday off to rest our bodies and on Wednesday we started floor and bars team events. You could really feel the intensity throughout the events as we continued to train with the motto "No Mercy."  Wednesday's team events followed with the same strength and by the end of practice we were ready to win at Pittsburgh.

Friday afternoon we started off on our bus trip to Pittsburgh. Being a freshman I was still learning about all about the rituals our team has when traveling.  The excitement that everyone has is contagious! Our team definitely has a great time all being packed on one big bus together. When we arrived in Pittsburgh, we had a delicious team dinner and then headed back to the hotel to get some sleep for the meet.

Saturday morning we all woke up and went to Panera and got fueled up for the meet. We all get ready together, helping each other with our hair and makeup and getting eager for the upcoming competition. On our bus ride over to the fieldhouse, we watched our intro video to get us pumped up and when we entered the building no one could stop us from doing what we do best.

We started on floor with the most intensity I have ever seen and put out some phenomenal routines. The momentum continued on vault where we beat our team record! We also now have the number one vaulter in the nation after this meet, shout out to Katy Dodds scoring a huge 9.9! Then proceeding on to bars where we hit 6 for 6. We finished off the meet with beam where another shout out goes to Stephanie Giameo who is ranked number one on beam in the nation! We ended the meet with a 195.975 and a new ranking of 14th in the country, number one in our conference and leading the conference on vault and beam!

This team looked incredible as our hard work and dedication during preseason is really paying off. We can't wait for this season to continue to show everyone what Terps Gymnastics is all about. I am so blessed to be part of such an amazing team that has so much drive, commitment and a remarkable work ethic. As we continue this season it just seems like we're ready for anything.

Don't forget to come watch us at our home opener this Saturday at 7 p.m. at Comcast Center as we take on the North Carolina Tar Heels.  See you at there! GO TERPS!!!

Haley
