Since we are finished with boot camp, we were really able to amp up the gymnastics and skills in the gym! We started half and full routine sets, and let me tell you, the Gym Terps are looking good this season! Now that our bodies aren’t so sore, our level of gymnastics has gone up significantly! It’s really exciting seeing our hard work starting to come together and pay off.

Now, “Phase 2” is the most important part of our preparation for the upcoming season. These are the weeks were we work on perfecting everything, so when season comes the judges have no deductions to take!

In this phase, we have two intrasquad meets coming up - our closed door one in November and then our annual Black and Red Intrasquad in December with our celebrity judges! It feels like things are really starting to get moving and it gets me so excited for the season to begin!

This past weekend was homecoming and it was great to see so many Terp alumni come back to campus! Although our football team had a devastating loss in the last few seconds, it was still a really fun weekend!
A bunch of us girls went to Brett’s tailgate before the game where we got to meet some former gymnasts and we met the designer of our beautiful leos! The best part of the tailgate for me was being able to see all my old teammates from my freshman and sophomore year. I didn’t realized how much I had missed them!

On Friday, there was a Title IX discussion here on campus that we had a team discussion about on Friday. Hearing stories about what these incredible women went through in order to get women’s sports where they are today is just unbelievable and really makes you think about things in perspective. We are so blessed for all of the amazing opportunities we have, and I am so thankful for everything in my life. Of course, we will keep pushing to ensure the future of women’s athletics down the road!
