I can honestly say as a team, last week was one of our best weeks yet! The energy level as well as the skill being thrown was incredible and such enjoyable environment to be in! If we keep having practices like we did this past week, I can honestly say (once again) there is no one out there we cannot beat!

This was a great week to really catch up with schoolwork as well! However, aside from our everyday activities, we also had time for fun. We had the opportunity to go to the Nationals game. My dad is the strength and conditioning coach, so he hooked the gymnastics team up with an unforgettable experience. We went down and saw the player's locker room, went on the field, took pictures with Olympic gold medalist swimmer Matt McLean, and the best part.... WE GOT CALLED OUT ONE BY ONE ONTO THE FIELD WHERE TO MEET THE PLAYERS IN FRONT OF THE ENTIRE STATIUM!! It was so cool! Maryland gymnastics was recognized in front of thousands of people as honorary guests! It was awesome... thanks so much dad!

The week didn't stop there! As the weekend approached, the girls became excited for the football game on Saturday. This game, the athletes walked onto the field in recognition for their academic achievements. If an athlete received a 3.0 GPA or higher they walked! As a first semester freshman, I didn't have the opportunity to do this, but it was so moving to see 10 of my fellow teammates walk the field representing the gymnastics team!  But lets not forget why we were really there! The football team did well and we took home a WIN! Way to go Terps!
