It has been quite a week for the Gym Terps, we had an entire week off of boot camp! After three tough weeks, it was nice to be able to just focus on our gymnastics. And let me tell you, there is some pretty awesome gymnastics going on.

I am absolutely blown away with our four freshmen. Bailey and Kathy are rocking the bars, with their beautiful lines and perfect handstands. Haley and Alex are stunning to watch on beam; Haley with her grace and Alex with her power. I cannot wait to watch them blow away the competition come the season. Everyone has been bringing an amazing amount of skill and energy in the gym. We are going to be one scary team. Hope NC State will be ready for us.

During our week off from boot camp, we usually get a chance to catch up on certain things like our school work, laundry, sleep, and perhaps some TV. But we do like to treat ourselves to something fun with our extra time. This week, a couple of us were able to be testers for a haunted house! Now, I know having zombies chasing or jumping out at you may not seem like a good time, but when you get to watch certain people (Katy and Kesley) burry their heads into others shoulders...it makes for some funny memories. Nonetheless, we all had a lot of fun and we were able to give our input on how to make the maze even better! It was a great way to get off campus and do something different then our usual schedule.

After a nice week off, boot camp is about to start up again, and we are ready to conquer whatever may be thrown at us. 

Now that I have updated you on what has been happening with the team, I get to tell you a little bit about the surprise my mom got this weekend. Being from California, I do not get to go home very often, just the big holidays and part of summer.  I decided I would change that though and surprise my mom with an early birthday visit. With the help of my dad and siblings, the surprise went perfectly! The next morning she woke up early to make sure she didn't dream it. It was a fabulous trip home, nothing better than to spend time with the family. I am so thankful to have amazing families both on the west and east coast.
