Hey Terp Fans!!
We did it! We successfully completed our first week of boot camp and classes!
This week was a tough week in the gym, but we pushed through as a team and got through it together. On Sunday we started off with a hard run, which we like to call "Sunday runday". It was a difficult workout physically and mentally, but as a team we all know this is what it takes to finish first and that is our goal.
Luckily on Monday we had the day off from classes and enough time to rest our legs before practice! It was great to see everyone in the gym and working hard. In addition to our practice we finished our first round of the INSANITY workout, the energy was high which makes getting through the workouts a lot easier! On Tuesday we had our first lift with our trainer Mike. Although the lift was difficult, it's also a lot of fun seeing everyone's enthusiasm and dedication to this team.
On Wednesdays this year our coaches added something new to boot camp, and we were all exited to hear that it was yoga! This is the perfect way to relax our bodies in the middle of the week and get the stretching that our muscles longed for, and we all also really enjoyed it! Thursday we were back in the weight room with Mike for our second lift, then on Friday we ended with a Zumba workout. It was a great way to end the week and we all got a good laugh watching each other struggle through some of the dance moves!
On Saturday, we all got up early and volunteered at Catholic Student Center to help make PB&J sandwiches for the homeless. If you follow @TerpsGymnastics on twitter you probably couldn't miss all of the pictures and funny hastags! (Brett likes to think of himself as the "hashtag king") It was a great experience seeing everyone come together and help out people in need.
All in all this was a crazy week but it really reminded me how lucky I am to be a part of such an amazing team. When it got hard there was always a teammate there reminding one another that were all in this together and all this hard work is going to pay off. I can't wait to see what big things are in store for the Gym Terps this year!
Thanks for reading and don't forget to follow @TerpsGymnastics on twitter!
Go Terps!!
