| No Comments | No TrackBacks

With the season well under way, the Fresh Faces series continues with Kamrin Gold. The Flint, Mch., native was a four-year letterwinner in volleyball and softball at Carman-Ainsworth High School. She holds single-season school records in kills (836) and digs (670) as well as the single-season record for aces (126). Gold was a finalist for Michigan Gatorade Player of the Year and Miss Volleyball.

Q: What attracted you to Maryland?
I liked everything about Maryland, actually. It's a strong academic school, the location of the school, and the volleyball program of course.

Q: You were in the running for Miss Volleyball in the state of Michigan. How much of an honor was it to be named a finalist?
It was probably one of the biggest accomplishments in my volleyball career. It was such an honor to be apart of such an amazing group of volleyball players to represent the state of Michigan.

Q: What are you career ambitions post-graduation?
I currently am undecided about what I want to do yet, but I leaning towards being a child psychologist.

Q: If you did not play volleyball, what sport would you play?
If I didn't play volleyball, I definitely would play softball. I played all four years of high school. I honestly just did it for fun in the beginning, but I grew too really like it.

Q: What is something that most people do not know about you?
I am a really shy person. In public, I am outgoing and friendly, but when I'm not around people I like to be by myself and enjoy my quite time watching a movie or something like that.

Q: Do you have any superstitions?
I'm not really a superstitious person at all. I just go with the flow.

Q: If a celebrity played you in a movie, who would it be and why?
It would definitely be Sarah Jessica Parker because I think we would have the same personality. She seems quite and not really seen in the public eye too much, but she is known for her work and is very successful at it at the same time.

Q: If you could spend one day with anyone is history, who would it be and why?
I know it's cheesy, but if I could spend a day with anyone in history I would spend it with Martin Luther King Jr. because I think what he did for this country was very inspiring and changed the world as we know it.
