Head coach Laura Watten and assistant coach Amber Jackson were inducted into the Bethune-Cookman Hall of Fame over the weekend in Daytona Beach, Fla. "The career fair was a tremendous success," Azizuddin Abdur-Ra'oof, Maryland's Director of Student Welfare & Career Development said. "We had more than 100 local businesses and corporations join us and received very positive feedback."
"I am hoping to get a job and network to meet more professionals to also enhance my people skills," softball senior Sara Acosta said.

This has been another exciting week for the GymTerps!
The Fresh Faces series contines this week with Kelsey Hrebenach. Kelsey starred for the Heritage Pride in Leesburg, Va., and led the Pride to the Virginia AAA Cedar Run District title and Northwest Region title as a junior while earning second team all-district honors. Kelsey was ranked 47th by PrepVolleyball.com in the class of 2012.
Terrapins Maxine Fluharty, Katie Gerzabek and Ali McEvoy will take on Chile Saturday, Sept. 22 at 4 p.m. ET in the Bronze Medal game of the Junior Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Fluharty and Gerzabek left for Mexico on Sept. 8. McEvoy joined the U.S. Team Sunday.
Team USA fell to Argentina, 6-0, Thursday in their semifinal match.
Team USA went 3-1 in pool play. Its only loss was a 2-1 decision to Chile. The Americans outscored opponents 26-3 in the four games.
Fluharty and Gerzabek traveled to Mexico on Sept. 8. McEvoy left on Sept. 16.
The U.S. finished second in Pool B. The gold medal and bronze medal matches will be played Saturday. The top three teams will earn a bid to the Junior World Cup next summer.

The 2012 ACC Champion Terrapins will be honored at the Washington Mystics game at the Verizon Center Friday night. The Terps won the program's 10th league title back in March and will be recognized on the court.
The Mystics and Terp alum Crystal Langhorne will take on the Los Angeles Sparks and two other Terrapin alums in Marissa Coleman and Kristi Toliver. Langhorne, Coleman and Toliver are three of Maryland's top four all-time leading scorers and were starters on the 2006 NCAA Championship team. These three Terrapin greats were the first All-Americans under head coach Brenda Frese.

Kristi Toliver of the Los Angeles Sparks was named the WNBA's Western Conference Player of the Month presented by Boost Mobile, respectively, for games played from Aug. 16 (when the league resumed play following its break for the 2012 Olympic Games) through the end of the month.
Toliver, who last week was named the Western Conference Player of the Week presented by Boost Mobile for the first time in her career, now adds her first ever Western Conference Player of the Month presented by Boost Month award. It marks the fourth straight month in which a Sparks' player has earned the Western Conference honor (Candace Parker won the award in May, June, and July).

We are so excited to have started another school year, and the first week was full of excitement!
With the season well under way, the Fresh Faces series continues with Kamrin Gold. The Flint, Mch., native was a four-year letterwinner in volleyball and softball at Carman-Ainsworth High School. She holds single-season school records in kills (836) and digs (670) as well as the single-season record for aces (126). Gold was a finalist for Michigan Gatorade Player of the Year and Miss Volleyball.
