Terrapin great Kristi Toliver was named the WNBA's Western Player of the Week Monday for her performance in the Los Angeles Sparks' three wins on the week. This is Toliver's first Player of the Week honor in her four years in the league.

In leading the Sparks to a 3-0 mark on the week and  back into second place in the West (behind Minnesota and ahead of San Antonio) , Toliver led the conference in scoring (25.3 ppg), ranked second in three-point field goal percentage (.619 on 13-of-21 shooting from behind the arc), and tied for second in steals (2.0 spg).  She also tied for fourth in both assists (4.3 apg) and field goal percentage (.571, 24-of-42).

The Terrapin alum began the week with 21 points, three steals, three assists and four rebounds in a 79-68 win over visiting Indiana that clinched a playoff spot for Los Angeles.  She then equaled her season-high of 29 points, distributed six assists, and grabbed two rebounds in a 101-77 home win over conference rival San Antonio.  Toliver closed out the week with 26 points (her fourth consecutive game of 20-or-more points and her ninth straight with 19-or-more), four assists, and two thefts as Los Angeles downed New York at Staples Center.  For the Sparks, who are 4-0 since returning from the Olympic break, the victory was their ninth in a row overall, the longest current streak in the league.
