This week's edition of Meet the Terps catches up with rising sophomore Jessica Uem.
Q: What attracted you to the University of Maryland?
I was attracted to Maryland by the motivated and inspiring coaches, a great academic program, and an excellent practice facility.
Q: What is the strongest area of your game?
Putting is the strongest area of my game currently.
Q: What has been your favorite experience on the course and off the course at the University of Maryland?
I have really enjoyed playing golf with fellow teammates on a daily basis along with Maryland Day and other school athletic events.
Q: If you did not play golf, what other sport would you play?
If I did not play golf, I would definitely play tennis.
Q: What are your career aspirations after graduation?
I plan on attending graduate school after graduating from Maryland.
Q: What are your personal and team goals for next year?
My personal goal is to have less than 30 putts per round and hit more greens in regulation. Team goal is to go to NCAA Championship and continue to win events every season.
Q: Which area of your game are you trying to improve for next year?
I am trying to improve my swing so I can hit the ball further.
Q: What is something you cannot live without?
I cannot live without music.
Q: What is your favorite pre-round meal?
I really like to eat fruit salad prior to a round of golf.
