Today was my first two-a-day! Workouts at 8 a.m. and practice in the afternoon at 4. For morning workouts, we did agilities, jumping and speed exercises, and medicine ball exercises. It was similar to the conditioning we do at Maryland, but with some differences. In between workouts in the morning and practice in the afternoon, Daly, Pilar and I went to Daly's mom's house for some home cooked Puerto Rican food. We ate arroz guisado y pollo guisado, which is basically rice with beans and chicken.
We played a lot in practice today, which was a lot of fun! For dinner, Daly's mom came to our house and cooked a Dominican meal for us called Mangu. It is made with boiled plantains and onions. Along with the Mangu, we ate scrambled eggs and breakfast salami. It was a very interesting combination, but it was delicious! After dinner, I went straight to bed because I was exhausted from the long day.

Today we had workouts at 8:30 a.m. where we ran for 10 minutes and then lifted. After the morning session, some of the girls and I went to a place called SuperFoods. This place makes a fruit bowl that has the consistency of ice cream or frozen yogurt. The main ingredient in the bowl is acai. Acai is a berry from Brazil that is very good for you. It has Omega 3, 6 and 9. It is crushed up and frozen, combined with fresh mangos and blended together to make the consistency of ice cream. The first layer is the acai/mango mixture, a layer of cut up bananas and granola, another layer of the acai/mango mixture, and topped off with fresh mango and banana. It was one of the most delicious things I have ever tasted!
For lunch, Daly and I decided to eat on the beach, which was very relaxing. We went home to take a nap before our afternoon practice. After practice, we went back to Daly's mom's house for dinner. She made us spaghetti with meat and tostones (plantains). I had two full plates it was so delicious and we took the leftovers home for later! We went back to the house and I had some homework to do. After I finished my work, we went to go see the movie "Ted." Thank goodness it was in English or I would have been in trouble! It had Spanish subtitles so everyone was able to enjoy it. It was a packed day with delicious foods! Tomorrow we're going to the beach!!
