FB_Blog_Header.jpg Two former Terrapin football players took another step to further their career this past weekend and an incoming recruit had an impressive showing in an all-star game.

Cameron Chism and Trenton Hughes, who both signed NFL free-agent contracts after last month's draft, took part in rookie minicamps.

Chism was signed by the Indianapolis Colts and is one of three undrafted cornerbacks on their roster. He spent time working as a nickel corner at the minicamp that ended Sunday, according to ESPN.com.

Hughes signed with the Miami Dolphins and is one of 10 cornerbacks on their roster. The Dolphins' minicamp ended Saturday.

While Chism and Hughes were trying to impress new coaching staffs, signee Perry Hills put his talents on display Sunday at the PSFCA East-West All-Star Game in Monroeville, Pa.

Hills completed 8 of 9 passes for 273 yards and four touchdowns in leading the West team to a 45-24 victory. The product of Pittsburgh Central Catholic was the West's MVP. He had touchdown throws of 80 and 88 yards in the game.

Hills is one of 25 scholarship newcomers for the 2012 season. He is expected to battle with fellow true freshman Caleb Rowe for the backup quarterback role behind C.J. Brown.

Former running back Davin Meggett was the third former Terp to sign an NFL free-agent contract after the draft. Meggett signed with the Houston Texans. They are scheduled to hold a rookie orientation program beginning Sunday.
