The game, which is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Saturday from Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium, will pit the offense vs. the defense in scrimmage-type setting.
"We're going to do basically what we've done the last two Saturdays because of the numbers, so we'll just go offense against defense and we'll have a scoring system set up so the defense can score points," head coach Randy Edsall said after Tuesday's practice.
As happened last year, the winning team will earn a steak and lobster dinner next week, while the losing team will be relegated to a menu of franks and beans.
Saturday's game is another evaluation opportunity for the Terps who have phased in new schemes on offense, defense and special teams this spring.
"I think that guys have worked hard and we've made a lot of strides," Edsall said. "We still have a lot of room for improvement. We've got to get a lot better, but I've been pleased with the attitude, the effort and the intensity as they've come out to practice."
However, the process to get ready for the 2012 season won't end on Saturday.
"Now what they've got to do after Saturday is get in the weight room and continue to do things on their own throughout the summer," Edsall said. "But I've been pleased overall with what's taken place this spring."
