Edsall Recaps Second Week of Spring Practice

FB_Blog_Header.jpg The Terps completed their second week of spring practice Saturday morning with a two-hour session which included a scrimmage for about an hour.

"Overall, you could tell it was the first scrimmage," head coach Randy Edsall said. "It wasn't as sharp and polished as I would have liked."

Edsall thought the offense was 'a little sloppy' and 'there were too many penalties,' but he liked what the defense did 'running around to the ball.'

Maryland is back on the practice field Tuesday and Edsall will continue to have the team work on fundamentals with most of the installation of the new offense and defense completed. There will still be some tweaks with special teams over the final three weeks of the spring.

Defensive coordinator Brian Stewart and offensive lineman Justin Gilbert also chimed in about the first two weeks of spring practice.

Stewart discussed Saturday's scrimmage and the new defense in his video. Gilbert discusses Saturday's practice and the new offense in his video.

The team will hold its official scrimmages, each of the next three Saturdays, including the Red-White Spring game on April 21. That game will kick off at 1 p.m.
