Hey Terp Fans!
This week was a busy and exciting week for the Terps. With flying all the way across the country last week to sunny California, then traveling once again to a nice snowy New Hampshire, the Terps have definitely been on the move.
The meet was on Saturday and the Terps were ready to take on the University of New Hampshire, Brown, and Bridgeport. Even though we were far from home, we had a huge fan base of family and friends to make up a majority of the crowd. We had so many people cheering for us -- it almost felt like we were competing at home in College Park!
We started the meet on beam, and while we had a bit of a shaky start we quickly learned from our mistakes and we attacked the rest of the meet. We put up great scores for the rest of the meet including Katy Dodd's 9.9 on floor, Ally Krikorian with a 9.9 on vault, and Karen Tang's career high on bars with a 9.875.
The Terps fought hard through the entire meet and as a reward we received our highest all-around score of the season!
One of my jobs on the team, due to my injury, is filming the routines so we are able to go back as a group and watch what we did well and where there is room for improvement. Looking through the camera lens, instead of standing on the sidelines watching the team, gives me an entirely new prospective not just about our gymnastics, but about our team. When I look through that camera, I am able to see how much heart and passion our team exerts week after week. There is not one moment where you can doubt the amount of desire this team has for becoming successful. It truly is one big family and being able to witness and experience it first hand is something very special.
This week coming up is something very near and dear to our team's hearts. The dreaded yet highly anticipated senior night. It is going to be amazing to see our seniors compete in their last home meet ever, but something very hard to fathom. This team has become so close and loving, it is going to be difficult to see our amazing seniors, Becca Pang and Kyra Phillips, move on into the real world! Please come out and support us on Sunday, March 11 at 2pm to watch these incredible seniors compete.
That's all for now! Thanks for reading and have an amazing week!
