Still Streaking...

The Terps extended their home winning streak to 36 games with a win against No. 6 Virginia Friday night.

Maryland boasts the fifth-longest active winning streak in all of NCAA Division I athletics.  Below is a breakdown of the top streaks in the country:

Ohio State Men's Tennis - 137

Florida Women's Tennis - 99

Stanford Women's Basketball - 79

Kentucky Men's Basketball - 52

Maryland Women's Lacrosse - 36

And a note, Texas A&M softball saw its 34-game winning streak snapped this weekend.  Texas women's volleyball now has the sixth-longest streak (30).

If you have not already done so, be sure to check out the 'Home Sweet Home' feature and video to get an inside look on why the Terps are so successful in College Park.

Schwarzmann Picks Up ACC Cred

Congrats to Katie Schwarzmann who landed her first conference weekly honor of the season Tuesday.  The junior was tabbed ACC Offensive Player of the Week for her effort in a pair of Terrapin wins over the weekend.  She currently leads Maryland in both goals (19) and points (22).

KEJ Dishes

Karri Ellen Johnson may not be Maryland's top goal scorer this season but she is racking up the assists.

KEJ is second in goals (14) but leads the Terps in assists with seven in 2012, including a career-high three against Delaware Feb. 16.

The Tewaaraton Watch List nominee has averaged 15 assists per season heading into her senior campaign. She's on pace to record 27 helpers in 2012.

Sneak Peak at 'Cuse

For the second consecutive week, the Terps will battle the sixth-ranked team in the nation when Syracuse treks to College Park Saturday.

The Orange moved up from No. 11 in last week's poll after notching their first win against an opponent ranked in the top five since 2006. The Orange (2-2) upset No. 4 Florida in double overtime on Saturday.

Maryland leads the all-time series 11-0.

The Orange has tackled a very difficult schedule thus far, playing No. 13 Boston College, No. 6 Virginia, and No. 1 Northwestern in addition to Florida last weekend. Every game except the opener against BC has been tight with no more than two goals determining the outcome.

As always, if you haven't already done so, check out this week's 12 Questions in 2012 with senior captain Kristy Black.  You can find the question and answer segment here.

See you at the complex Saturday!
