Aust Electrifies, Defense Petrifies

Alex Aust catches fire, Terps and the HOF, and a strong defensive showing headline this week's blog!

Alex Aust is in the middle of a breakout stretch this season.  The junior has tallied 11 goals and 12 assists in the last five games.

Aust is averaging 2.4 assists per game in the last five matches. She tallied four assists against Towson Tuesday.

Terp Connections Dot US Lacrosse Hall of Fame Ballot

US Lacrosse released the list of 24 finalists on the 2012 National Lacrosse Hall of Fame men's and women's ballots late last week and Maryland connections can be found all over the list.

From these ballots, the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame women's voting committees will select the 2012 induction class. US Lacrosse will announce the inductees prior to Memorial Day weekend.

Jen Adams - Former Player

- Four-year player at University of Maryland (1998-2001)

- Three-time All-American: 1st Team (1999, 2000, 2001)

- Winner of Tewaaraton Award (2001)

- Three-time National Player of the Year (1999, 2000, 2001)

Defense Thwarts Towson

Maryland put together one of its best defensive outings this season when it held Towson to three goals Tuesday.

The Terps stymied the Tiger attack, silencing Towson in the first half before surrendering three late second-half scores. The Terps are giving up six goals per game in their last three matches.
