Hey Terp Fans,
I hope this letter finds you all doing splendidly! Now, it has been a bit chilly here in College park, but I can assure you that things are heating up inside the gym. We had a solid week of practice as we prepared for our big Pink Meet. Luckily, the meet fell the same week as Valentine's Day, so we got to throw in a little bit more pink into our wardrobes, and perhaps a few chocolates.
I could not have been more proud of this team's performance on Saturday. There was so much heart and passion in each routine, you could feel the excitement building. We started the meet with a solid performance on vault. As we moved to bars, we had a little something to prove. Six phenomenal routines later, I had lost my voice. It was well worth losing because these were some of the best routines I have seen this season. Full of excitement, we moved to beam. Perhaps a bit shaky here and there, but there was fight in our eyes and we still continued to pull through. Finally we headed to floor. Hit after hit, we exceeded every expectation. The Terps were proving to be unstoppable.
What continued to make this meet even more amazing was the amount of people that came to support, not only our team, but, breast cancer awareness as well. We had over 1,000 fans, and were fortunate enough to be in the presence of some survivors. Their fight to beat cancer continues to be an inspiration to this team. It is their stories that drive us to fight each meet for one another.
As we begin to head into this next week, we hope to continue what we accomplished Saturday. Whether we find ourselves on the east coast or west coast, the Terps plan to make a statement.
Thanks for reading! And I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your week! GO TERPS!
