The Maryland baseball team will hold its annual Red & Black World Series Oct. 28-30 in Bob "Turtle" Smith Stadium. Game times are set for 6 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. Saturday and noon Sunday.
The Red & Black World Series, an intrasquad scrimmage, serves as the culmination of fall practice. Head coach Erik Bakich will select senior captains for each squad next week, and those players will draft teams. Those rosters will be made available on umterps.com.
The reason for the 11 a.m. start Saturday morning? Maryland's football game with Boston College at 3 p.m. On Sunday, the team will take batting practice in Halloween costumes, which turned out quite hilarious last year.
