The Maryland Terrapin baseball team arrived in Austin, Texas, this morning and practiced at UFCU Disch-Falk Field in the early afternoon.
With the season just a little more than 24 hours away, below are some links to what is being written about this year's Terps.
Over at College Baseball Daily, Brian Foley projects that Maryland will be a 3-seed in the NCAA Tournament this season. Foley has the Terps playing in the Vanderbilt Region, which would be fitting of course, since Erik Bakich came to Maryland after a seven-year stint with the Commodores.
At NCAA.com, Amy Farnum takes a look at the growth of the Maryland program in the 18 months since Bakich arrived in College Park. They also delve into just what the "Omaha Challenge" entails at Maryland.
Patrick Duffy of Bleacher Report gives an all-around preview of the Terps, writing that Bakich is infusing energy into the program that's never been seen before.
Bakich is living up to his reputation as a top recruiter, writes Chase Hughes at CSN Baltimore.
And if you haven't seen the features on Tim Kiene and Chuck Ghysles on umterps.com, they're definitely worth checking out.
You can also see the preseason highlight tape, as well as a short preview of the 2011 season from Bakich, by clicking here.

I think this blog is great and is very important in reaching alums like myself that are far away from College Park. I wanted to mention that I wasn't able to get the Season preview by hitting on the link in the last sentence above. Thanks and keep up the good work.
