Terps Lead Pirates, 16-3, at the Half

Quick Hits: Maryland holds a 16-3 lead over East Carolina at halftime thanks to a 45-yard TD pass from Danny O'Brien to Kevin Dorsey, a 1-yard TD run by D.J. Adams and a Travis Baltz field goal ... the Terrapin attack was balanced with 104 yards passing and 97 rushing ... the Terrapins won the turnover battle in the half 3 to 1 and are 7-2 this season when they hold the edge in TOs.

Bowl Facts: Maryland is looking for its fifth bowl victory in its last six tries ... the Terps are also seeking their 14th nine-win season in school history, including the fifth under head coach Ralph Friedgen ... Maryland has an all-time record of 10-11-2 in bowl games ... this is Maryland's first bowl game against a Conference USA opponent.

Dorsey: Kevin Dorsey hauled in a 45-yard touchdown pass from Danny O'Brien on Maryland's second possession of the game, the longest reception of his career. The sophomore has two catches for 50 yards and has posted at least two receptions in six of the last eight games.

Interceptions: Eric Franklin picked off ECU QB Dominque Davis in the first quarter, his second INT this season. As a team, Maryland has 18 interceptions this season, the most since they also had 18 in 2002.

Long Plays: The Terps had two plays over 40 yards in the first half - Dorsey's 45-yard TD reception and Davin Meggett's 44-yard run. Maryland's offense has scored on nine plays of 40 yards or longer this year.

Adams Again: D.J. Adams found the end zone for the eighth time this season, the most rushing TDs on the team.

More from Meggett: Davin Meggett ran for 59 yards in the first half, including a 44 yarder, and moved into Maryland's career top 20 list. The junior has 1,512 yards in his career.

100 for Tate: With six tackles in the first half Kenny Tate reached 100 on the season, becoming the first Maryland DB to do so since Tony Jackson had 101 in 2000.

Pass Break Ups: Michael Carter and Darin Drakeford each had a pass break up for Maryland, which now has 53 on the season. In comparison, the Terps had just 29 in 2009.

Tidbits: Alex Wujciak made his 38th consecutive start and Paul Pinegar made his 25th straight, best on defense and offense respectively ... the Terps used a three-pronged rushing attack, as D.J. Adams got seven carries while Davin Meggett and Da'Rel Scott had six apiece ... Maryland stopped ECU on both of its attempts to convert on fourth down ... the Terps had 4.0 tackles for loss in the half.
