Maryland will be without one of its top reserves for the Military Bowl presented by Northrop Grumman.Redshirt freshman cornerback Dexter McDougle was injured Saturday evening in a single scooter accident on campus. McDougle, who was treated at a local hospital and released, suffered a broken clavicle and is scheduled to have surgery Tuesday, ending his season.
Fellow redshirt freshman Isaiah Ross was operating the scooter, but was not injured in the accident.
McDougle played in 11 games this season, mostly as the No. 3 cornerback. He posted 22 tackles, including 14 solo stops, and three pass breakups
The Terps began practicing Monday for the bowl game against East Carolina which will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 29 at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C.
