Hey Terps Fans!
This past week in the gym was an amazing lead up to the closed-door Intrasquad that we had on Friday. We ended the week with two team days and a day of visualization. The team looked more than ready for the challenge of facing those judges for the first time this year. The entire team and coaching staff was extremely confident in everything that we have been doing leading up to this first Intrasquad. This was going to be the first test for the team.
The girls passed the test with flying colors! The first event started us off strong with some REALLY big vaults. The confidence level was through the roof for everyone in the gym. Then we moved to bars where there was some amazing swinging, huge releases, and stuck landings. Beam showed us how consistent we're going to be as a team. The girls stayed calm and composed, and stayed on that beam. Then we moved to floor where we saw some big tumbling and fun dancing. I'm scared to see what this team will look like in front of a crowd! The girls look anxious to get out there and show some other teams what we're made of!
This week will be short because of the Thanksgiving break coming up, so we'll be sure to be RELENTLESS in the gym for those few days! So enjoy your Thanksgiving and holiday season everyone!
I would like to make a couple of quick shout outs:
Brett: Good luck on your tonsillectomy; we're all wishing you a speedy recovery.
All of the Terps Gymnastics family: Thanks for making me feel so welcome. I couldn't be happier to be working with you all, and I am so excited for the upcoming season.
And lastly, congratulations to all of the amazing Terps athletics that have been going on so far this year! To name a few, Field Hockey and Men's and Women's Soccer started off the year for all Terps sports on a high note! We'll all be looking to continue the momentum that you have started for us!
Next stop for the Terps Gymnastics team: December 10th Red/Black Intrasquad! We hope to see you there!!!
Thanks for reading!
