Hi Terp fans!
As I entered into the Pavilion tonight with our fans, friends and family cheering from the stands, it hit me that this was the last Intrasquad of my college career! Despite the emotions running through me, I knew this was it, the start of our season and honestly, I couldn't have asked for a better turn out. As captain of the team this year, it was exciting to lead everyone out onto the floor along with my fellow captains, Joanna Venezia and Samantha Ford. Also, being able to walk out from our new locker room with our new uniforms on was such an exciting moment! As for the meet, I competed in a five element stunt round, pyramid round, a quad tumbling pass, basket round, and the team routine. All of my events hit tonight which was great because now my teammates and I can time to work on the little things, like perfecting the executions.
Overall, we had a good showing for our first performance. It was great to see our skills all on the floor; however, there is always room for improvement. What I am most excited about is taking what we did today back into practice to build upon for preparation of our home-opener against Quinnipiac on December 4th.

It was so great to get our first meet under our belts and I thought it went really well. The Intrasquad was a great way to introduce the freshmen to the new meet style and I think that they all enjoyed it. For me, it was an awesome feeling to compete again and get in front of the crowd. I competed in the compulsory pyramid, basket, and tumbling round which was a great way to get warmed up and get any last minute jitters out before we moved into the stunt round. Our partner stunt had been shaky throughout the week, but we warmed up great and went out and nailed it in the stunt round. That was such a great feeling and I was so proud of my stunt group. The girls went out and rocked it for the pyramid round right before half time. After halftime it was great to see how relaxed everyone was especially going into the team routine portion of the meet. We all just wanted to go out and have fun. I think the most exciting part of the first half of the team routine was seeing both sides of the tic toc 2-1-1 pyramid in the air. Now we just need to relax going to partner stunts. With a few more reps of running this section we will be ready to go to face Baylor and Quinnipiac in our next meets. It was also great to see the crowd really getting into the team routine I think really contributed to our energy. We still have some work to do and need to clean up a little more but I think that the Intrasquad meet was a great way to kick off the season.

Hey Terps!
This past weekend kicked off our season with an Intrasquad meet where we divided up the team and competed against each other. Being that there were different events, we divided into three sets of teams. I was on the red team for the first set of events. Competing against my teammates created a fun competition amongst us. Although the meet itself was only against ourselves, I still wanted to do my best win my event for the red team. I originally thought there wouldn't be as much pressure just competing against my teammate, but once I saw all of the fans the pressure was on, and I knew I had to execute everything perfectly. The same kind of feelings carried over into the next events. My team always happened to be the first team out for the heats, so we had to set the bar high for the other team. Overall I was happy with the way the meet went. I personally did very well, with all of my teams winning their events and being an overall meet champion. This was a great experience to get the team used to the meet format and was a necessary stepping stone to prepare us for the meets against other teams. This is a fantastic new format we will be using. I love how it fairly scores each of the events without subjectivity. I can't wait for the rest of the season! YAY TERPS!!
Cheers,
