FB_Blog_Header.jpgMaryland took an early 7-3 lead on Clemson, but the Tigers responded with 14 unanswered points to go into the half with a 17-7 lead.

The Terps scored their touchdown on a trick play, with running back Da'Rel Scott throwing to quarterback Danny O'Brien for a 5-yard TD.

First-half notes:

Tidbits: Taylor Watson had a career-long 13-yard run in the first quarter ... Darin Drakeford had one tackle-for-loss and is second on the team in that category (4.5) ... Adrian Moten also had a TFL ... there were no turnovers by either team in the first half ... Alex Wujciak leads the Terps with five tackles.

Yeatman Gets Involved: Senior tight end Will Yeatman, playing in his first game without a cast after he broke a finger in the preseason, recorded his first receptions as a Terrapin. The transfer from Notre Dame had three catches for 48 yards on Maryland's first scoring drive, including a one-handed catch that got Maryland to the 5-yard line.

Cannon Comes Through: Senior wide receiver Adrian Cannon has a game-high four receptions at halftime. Cannon made a highlight-reel catch in the first quarter, reaching behind him to make a one-handed catch while in stride that went for 26 yards. His four catches are a season high.

Running and Throwing: Da'Rel Scott ran just three times for 18 yards in the first half, but also threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Danny O'Brien. Scott took a pitch from O'Brien, ran to his right, and then threw to O'Brien on the left side of the end zone. It was the second TD pass of his career - he also had a 9-yard TD pass against Wake Forest on 10/18/08.
