Baltz a Ray Guy Nominee: Travis Baltz was named on Friday one of 51 nominees for the Ray Guy Award, given annually to the nation's top collegiate punter. The list will be narrowed to 10 semi-finalists on Nov. 12 and three finalists on Nov. 22. The presentation of the award will be televised live on ESPN at 7 p.m. on Dec. 9. Baltz currently ranks 47th nationally in punting average (41.9) and has put 14 of his 43 punts inside the opponents' 20.

Honorary Captain: Today's honorary captain is Kris Jenkins. A recipient of the James M. Tatum award as the team's lineman of the year in 2000, Kris Jenkins had an outstanding career as a Terrapin and went on to an even more successful career in the National Football League. At Maryland, Jenkins started 27 games and recorded 154 tackles in his career. His 17 tackles for loss as a senior are the fifth-most in a single-season in school history and helped him earn second team All-ACC honors. As a pro, Jenkins played in the Super Bowl with the Carolina Panthers in 2003 and is currently a member of the New York Jets. He has been selected to the Pro Bowl four times in his 10-year career.
