The Terps held their final practice before facing Clemson Saturday in Death Valley (noon kickoff on the ACC Network). The team hit the field at the on-campus facility Thursday for about 90 minutes, missing most of the heavy afternoon showers which hit the College Park region.
Practice News and Notes:
- The Terps continued to use artificial crowd noise in practice in order to prepare for Saturday's hostile environment in Death Valley. "We had problems with the noise at West Virginia," head coach Ralph Friedgen said after Thursday's practice. "We've got to get in and out of the huddle and take care of the time management a lot better than we did at West Virginia. We played the noise all day today and we worked pretty well with it."
- Friedgen said he's decided who will start at quarterback Saturday (Danny O'Brien or Jamarr Robinson), but will not make an announcement before kickoff. Both signal-callers will play.
- RB Davin Meggett (offense), LB Adrian Moten (defense) and P/PK Travis Baltz (special teams) will serve as game captains against Clemson.
- TE Ryan Schlothauer and DL Darius Kilgo were named the scout team players of the week.
- DB Cameron Chism will carry the Maryland flag onto the field Saturday, while RB Haroon Brown will carry the American flag.
